Mosaic tray:

Materials needed:

Wooden tray - mosaic tiles( pink , green , yellow)- tile nippers -tile adhesive - grout -craft paint ( pink and green ) - white glue -paint brush - 4 small wooden balls - sponge.

Instructions:

Transform a plain wood tray into a pretty thing to display your favorite toiletries on your dresser, or use in any other place. Use a design that is inspired by your decor for a more unified look.

  1. Start by preparing your tray, paint it with a coat of diluted white glue. When dry draw on your design, here I used a rose drawing that goes well with my room fabric, but you can draw any other thing.

  2. Cut your mosaic tiles into small pieces using the tile nippers and arrange them over your design to check how to fill it. Use green for leaves, pink for roses and yellow for everything else, and when you  need to fill small areas cut the tile pieces even smaller until you get a good fit.

  3. Stick your tiles using tile adhesive applied straight on the back of the tiles. Leave them to dry over night making sure all the tiles are glued well.

  4. Mix your grout, color it, if you want, using a little craft paint, and apply it to the tray making sure to push well with your fingers to fill all the small gaps between the tiles.

  5. Wipe away the excess grout from the tiles using a damp sponge or cloth and leave it to dry overnight. When it's dry you can clean the tiles more using a dry cloth.

  6. Paint the remaining of the tray pink, paint the wood balls green and stick them to the lower corners of the tray to act as legs.

  7. Feel good about yourself, you've just created a displaying tray to be proud of :) .
