Papier mache box -  sponge- craft paint -  glue -paint brush - ribbon - cross stitched shell and star.

Transform an unfinished box by painting and sponging on it, add ribbons for a romantic touch, and cross stitched shells and stars for a trip to the sea feel..

1. paint the whole box in a cream color and leave it to dry.

2. soak the sponge with water , squeezing the execs and dip it in your first color.

3. Apply the paint on the box only using light dabbing motions. apply the second color the same way cleaning the sponge between colors.

4. Apply a coat of varnish for protection.

5. add the ribbons to the cover of the box and glue on it the stitched shells. ( use patterns from magazines or sites on the internet to cross stitch on cross stitch plastic or cloth and cut close around picture.)
