Instructions:
Sometimes when you lay different colors of carpets in every room you
end up having a lot of unused pieces , instead of throwing them ( as i
used to do ) why not try making a new rug for the hallway or any other
room in the house..
- Start by cutting a large rectangle of the color
you want for the base. usually it's the color you have the largest
piece of, choose the size according to the space you will be putting
the rug in.
- choose a simple pattern for the different colors
in your rug. start by drawing the pattern on newspaper to make a
template for the cutting. I started by cutting the yellow strips.
draw the pattern on the back of the carpet with the marker, and
using the cutter cut the yellow strips and brown swirls from the
green base making sure to cut only the shapes and not the base.
- cut the same shapes from the yellow and the brown
carpet. use the cutouts to replace the green shapes in the base, try
to arrange them well before gluing the pieces together with the glue
gun. secure the pieces more by gluing a large piece of plastic rug
backing to the back.
- take care when moving the rug or cleaning it.
