The baby shower:

It's not really called baby showers in Saudi Arabia , but the idea of family and friends gathering together, giving gifts and sometimes playing games in celebration for the new baby is similar. we usually have the party at the 7th day of the birth, or after that but we call it ( sabi' ) that means the seventh. In my case I was just out of the hospital at the time so we had it later than that, but still had fun preparing for it.  I started preparing some of the things with my mom since day one of pregnancy..

In the right picture using baby plaster figures, silk flowers , ribbons and tulle mom made these pretty treats to give away in the hospital to visitors. they were stuck to chocolate bars and arranged over three layers of round-cut Styrofoam. Thanks mom for them.

As a decoration for the tables, we did 6 of these bears with balloons using Styrofoam figures and sheets cut in a shape of a teddy bear ,painted them all and sprinkles this glitter all over ( including our clothes, the floor and even my baby's head! ) I wrote the name of my girl on each one and used them as a plate to offer chocolate.

We also decorated some regular baskets with ribbons and tulle to put the party favors in them. we had fun preparing for the party and the memory of that will forever stay in our minds..
